Establishing Company Leadership as Experts: SkillGigs

The Challenge

SkillGigs, Inc., is a major disruptor in the traditionally slow-moving field of healthcare staffing, offering an AI-powered, direct sourcing alternative to third-party recruiters – but in order to gain traction with new potential users and increase revenue, they needed to make sure the industries they worked in knew what they had to offer, and viewed their leaders as experts. Conway Market ing Group partnered with SkillGigs to greatly expand its public relations efforts and generate a consistent t hought leadership strategy for the company’s executive team. 

What We Delivered

Conway Marketing group led by developing a comprehensive editorial and PR calendar, along with a set of tactics that would align with major announcements and areas of business focus throughout the year. Our public relations manager built a SkillGigs PR toolkit, including foundational talking points and a constantly refreshed master media list, and began regular outreach to media contacts, both initiated from the list and in response to inquiries from other source request databases. 

In tandem, our public relations manager regularly coordinated with our SkillGigs contact on thought leadership strategy for the executive team, finding opportunities for contributed content, drafting all op-eds and articles, and pitching them to editors. All of this was done to build anticipation for, and draw attention to, the company’s new platform experience, which debuted in March 2023. Conway Marketing Group also drafted the wire press release and pitched the announcement to targeted media outlets.

The Results

Before and after the launch of SkillGigs’ new platform experience, SkillGigs executive leaders had multiple bylines in influential staffing trade publications, and in publications targeting some of their primary industries, including healthcare and technology. The replatforming announcement garnered wide coverage in trade media. Additionally, the thought leadership strategy and content process established by SkillGigs and the CMG team led to a consistent flow of quality articles that could sustain the CEO’s Forbes Council contributor membership.
Key success metrics from September 2022 includes:

  • 22 MEDIA MENTIONS, including high-performing interviews with popular industry podcasts, including “Firing Squad with Chad & Cheese,” “Work On-Demand,” and RecruitingDaily’s “The Use Case.”
  • 9 NO-COST THOUGHT LEADERSHIP ARTICLES, drafted and placed by CMG in influential publications including McKnight’s Long-Term Care News, HR Future, SIA’s The Staffing Stream, and HR Tech Outlook.
  • 9 SPONSORED THOUGHT LEADERSHIP ARTICLES, drafted and placed by CMG, in influential external publications including Forbes, Fortune, Finance Digest, and more.
